Magnetask exists because of a specific, universal failure: somebody asks for something in an email or a chat, the other person says sure, and then it evaporates. Not from bad intent - from the fact that nobody wrote it down as work.
So we built the tool we kept wishing existed: one that reads the places where asks actually arrive, drafts the task, finds the contact, the email, the time slot - and then waits for a human to say yes. Magnetask is an independent product, built and run by the people who answer its support inbox.
Four rules we build by.
The ask is the atom of work
Almost everything a team does starts as somebody asking somebody else for something - in an email, a chat message, a meeting. Task managers start too late: they track work only after a person remembers to retype it. Magnetask starts where the work actually starts.
A person approves everything
Software that silently creates work and puts it on a teammate's plate is not helping, it is generating noise with authority. Every ask Magnetask captures becomes a draft that a person reviews, edits, or discards. The judgment stays human; only the typing goes away.
Your tools are not the problem
Teams do not need another place to talk. Magnetask connects to the tools where the asks already happen and does its job quietly alongside them, instead of asking anyone to move.
Restraint is a feature
We would rather capture fewer things accurately than everything noisily, state only the security controls that are actually in force, and ship a plan when it is real. A tool for keeping promises should keep its own.
