Somebody asks for something in a chat, an email or a meeting. Somebody says yes. Then the day carries on, and the thing that was agreed to is gone - not refused, not forgotten on purpose, just never written down anywhere that keeps it.

The ask is the atom of work
Almost everything a team does starts as somebody asking somebody else for something - in a message, an email, a sentence on a call. Every other tool begins after that moment, once a person has remembered to write it down. Magnetask begins at it.

Software that quietly puts work on a colleague's board is not helping; it is noise with authority. What the reader finds becomes a draft in one person's queue, and that person decides. The two exceptions are ones you turn on yourself.

Nobody needs another place to talk. Magnetask reads where the asks already happen and stays out of the way: it never posts in your channels, never replies to your customers, never writes in anybody's inbox but from your own hand.

We would rather catch fewer things accurately than everything noisily, ask for fewer permissions than we could use, and state only the protections that are actually in force today. A product that overstates is one you have to check.

People pay for Magnetask and that is where the money comes from. There is no advertising, nothing is sold to anybody, and your work is not the product - which is why the permissions it asks for are the smallest set that can do the job, and why the free plan is a real one rather than a trap.
